The personal story behind Somnomi

For years, Hans Vanattenhoven was drawn to Catalonia and Barcelona. Living there felt like a dream for later in life. Then, unexpectedly, an opportunity arose in 2013 and he moved to Barcelona. What had seemed a distant plan became a real life by the sea, in the light and rhythm of the Mediterranean.

Thirteen years later, that experience is the starting point for Somnomi. A beautiful place should not always have to wait until retirement or the moment when buying a whole second home becomes easy. Somnomi brings people together to own a genuine share of one carefully chosen home, with time to enjoy it and practical support to look after it.

This digital ownership concept originated in Scandinavia and will permanently change the second-home market.

Hans combines twenty years of commercial experience as a consultant to dozens of multinational companies with a strong entrepreneurial background, having been involved in the creation of several businesses.

Through Havana Inco SL and backed by investors, he is translating that experience into Somnomi: a considered co-ownership model developed between Barcelona and Brussels, with careful selection, clear organisation and full-service support around the home.
